Local Activities
We are approximately two and a half hours from Disney and all the attractions in Orlando.
Busch Gardens in Tampa is the closest theme park to us and can be reached quite easily in one and a half hours. Slightly further
afield are the Everglades which can be reached in two and half hours, worth a visit if only for the Airboat ride.

Golf
If you are a golf widow you may wish to avoid this section!
There are 15 golf courses in the area with 3 in the immediate area. Green fees range from $15 to $40 depending on when
you play. Clubs can be rented at very reasonable rates. Remember - it does get very hot in Florida and mosquitos can be a
problem, particularly on golf courses. Spray before you Play!

Fishing
Perhaps Golf isn't your thing? How about Fishing? Port Charlotte and the surrounding areas offer
some of the best Fishing - from Tarpon to Sea Trout you will find it all here.
All styles of fishing are catered for, fly-fishing, fishing for sheepshead or maybe you prefer fishing in the backwater shallows?
The best thing about fishing in Charlotte County is its incredible diversity, Tarpon, Barracuda, Grouper, Redfish and Cobia frequent
the waters between the Gulf of Mexico and Charlotte Harbour.
In March you will find the annual Charlotte Harbour Fishing Tournament that attracts thousands of entrants each year. In the
Tarpon Capital of the World you can enter the Grande Tarpon Tournament each July, this is the worlds richest and most internationally
acclaimed competition of its kind.
You don't have to be an expert in Fishing to enjoy your stay in Englewood. You may prefer to Captain a Kayak, command a
canoe or hire a boat to enjoy the beautiful beaches, hunt for exotic seashells and shark teeth whilst watching dolphins dancing
gracefully just off the shores.
